Indian Chamber of Commerce is organizing the NE MSME Summit 2011 on September 23 at Guwahati in association with Bombay Stock Exchange. This summit would be a unique event having a multi level approach to assist small businesses in NE Region to understand the latest trends in the business environment, marketing their products and services, act as a platform to bring consultancy organizations, training institutes and agencies to transact business with small enterprises.
The event will include a one day conference where eminent speakers from government departments, large corporate houses will address the delegates and share their “project details and requirements” and also address on key issues and available opportunities. This will help the potential supplier understand the potential vendor’s stringent requirements of cost, quality, speed and delivery.

LAKHIMPUR: Yet another girl was kidnapped and gangraped before being dumped on the roadside in Lakhimpur sending shock and anger across the state on Monday.
The gory incident took place on Sunday evening in Naoboisa area where the minor girl was believed to have been forcibly picked up from the road to be gangraped by five miscreants at night.
She was rescued in a critical condition on the roadside in the wee hours. Local residents and police have rushed her to the hospital where she has been battling to survive.
Police have registered a case and hunt is on to locate the miscreants. “We are waiting for the medical report and the victim is also unwell. But we have been investigating the case acting on whatever inputs we have at hand. Beyond that we can't disclose anything,” said a senior police officer. Meanwhile, many local residents and individuals have demanded immediate arrest of the perpetrators and their examplary punishment.
In yet another incident that sends sensation across the state, four miscreants gang raped a girl in nagaon district on Sunday night. The gory incident took place Rupohi in the district where the miscreants caught the girl and raped before being dumped on the roadside. Villagers rescued the victim in critical condition early in the morning. She is battling for life at the hospital where she was admitted by villagers. Policemen probing the case are believed to have been identified the miscreants.
