Brajawala Devi, the wife of the doyen of Assamese literature Jagneshwar Sharmapassed away at 9 o'clock in the morning at her Amolapatty residence in Nagaon on March 4 after an old-age illness. She was 88. She was born in 1920 at Dakshinpat Satra and got married to the literatur, scholar Jagneshwar Sharma at the age of 13. She wrote a book named 'Parijaat' on the marriage system of the Assamese Society. She too composed several plays and amongst them 'Sapoon' introduced her as a skillful play writer to the state.
