Kudos to Nabasuruj Library of Rangiya

At this hour when numbers of non-government bodies in the state are growing leaps and bounds, on the other hand Nabasuruj Library of Rangiya Tiniali has been doing an exemplary job striving to do something beneficial for the community. Raising their genuine voices for the society, the non government body came out to creating awareness of the rights reserved for the common populace here. It in its first move has filed RTI Act 2005 in the NF Railway asking the number of total appointments held till 2009 under the NFR zone. Further, it has pleaded the authority with the Act to know the number of locals being absorbed in railway jobs till date, beside amenities and facilities for local public from the end of Rangiya railway division and few other vital issues. It followed a mass awareness among the people of Rangiya in general and the state of Assam in particular about the laudable gesture of Nabasuruj Library, and gave a room for the people to ponder about the apathies of Indian Railway towards the locals after the information gathered by the former through RTI Act 2005. Even, the body stepping further, has filed similar series of queries for the overall interest of general public in Block Development Office (BDO), Rangiya Municipal Board, Sarba Siksha Abhiyan Mission Office at Rangiya etc; in order to make the make aware of their duties and rights. With such philanthropic gesture on from the body, it has earned a good response and support from the local people here. Body’s members and office bearers, mostly the youths obviously creating a positive impact on the society paving a room for others towards the duty to raise concerns and voices that too in right time. It has recently filed such RTI application in the PWD (Roads) division at the locality, but interestingly the answer is yet to be received from the authority by the body as it was reported that the concerned unscrupulous officials of PWD office reportedly trying to cover the amount of corruptions, anomalies in the office. To everyone’s utter surprise, the office hiding its negligence, is beating about the bush asking the body for nearly 1 lakhs 20 thousand rupees in order to collect the answers of the queries filed by body. Ridiculous, the childish step or game of the office, it was to stop the body from doing anything further and to hide the anomalies occurring in the office. Whatsoever, the case may be, the authority of Nabasuruj Library has informed they would not stop with any such ill motives from any fronts or forces. “We would continue our move for doing something fruitful for the society. It is our sole responsibility as the young force of this locality to fight for the genuine cause and the public aware of the rights” –few of the office bearers told urging for local people’s support and co-operation in their move.
