Jeevan magazine launched

Jeevan magazine was released by writer Dr Mamoni Raisom Goswami on Thursday at Guwahati. The magazine is launched by Jeevan Initiative, a non-profit organization. Jeevan Initiative is an attempt to celebrate the positive aspects of like, inform our youths about the developments taking place all over the world and bring awareness among them about our strength and available opportunities.


Noted film director Jahnu Baruah was also present and spoke at the occasion. Edited by Suresh Ranjan Goduka, the magazine aims to highlight the positive aspects of life, specially, the issues related to the uplift of youth.

Two suspected Muslim United Liberation Tigers of Assam (MULTA) has been arrested by the 43 Assam Rifles in a combing operation from the Koliabhumura area in Tezpur on 29-07-08 evening. In tragic incident, three wild elephants have been found dead inside the Sengelijan Elephant Reserve Forest under Gohpur Sub-division near Sirajukli Karbi Village on 27th July morning. An electricity post was damaged due to the excavation work going on for construction of the widening process of the proposed four lane road in front of the Khetri Police Station, near Guwahati today. The resulted short-circuit in the electrical post damaged many electronics goods of that area used in the households. Assam's first photo-journalist and cine director Amulya Manna passed away at Nagaon on 19-01-08 at the age of 80. He left behind his wife, one daughter and three sons.Besides being involved in the production of several cinemas in Assam, he directed 'Marishika', 'Pathar Aru Jiban' and documentaries, 'Sadiya Radha' and 'Flowers of Assam'.
