Asom Xahita Xabha to observe Rabha Divas centrally at Kalaigaon

Asom Xahita Xabha has decided to observe Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha Divas, centrally at a function at Kalaigaon in Udalguri district on June 19 and 20 with various programmes.According to Dr.Parama Rajbangshi, secretary,Asom Xahita Xabha,a reception committee has been formed with Rihan Daimari,minister,PHE,Assam as president;Keshab Chandra Deka,MCLA,BTAD as working president; Dandi Rabha,MCLA,BTAD ,Dhireswar Boro Narzi and Kamal Prasad Sarma as vice presidents; Tarun Azad Deka and Mukut Raj Sarmah as joint secretaries. A media sub committee with senior journalists Keshab Dutta (Tangla) and Jayanta kumar Das as advisors; Imran Hussain,president,Kalaigaon Press club as president and journalists Tankeswar Baruah and Rabindrs Rabha as joint secretaries has also been formed recently. According to Tarun Azad Deka, secretary of the reception committee, various sub committees have also been formed for the success of the celebration. He said that a budget of rupees five lakhs had already been approved for the central celebration of the day at Kalaigaon.

The hoisting of Xahita Xabha flag would mark the beginning of the ceremony at 8 am on June 19 to be followed by quiz competition (on Bishnu Rabha); recitation of the Rabha poem “Mukti Deul” ;Bishnu sangeet competition and dance competition ( on Bishnu sangeet ).Reception committee has requested the interested participants of the state kindly to contact secretary RC in advance ( cell no.09864248948 ).The second day’s programme would be marked off with paying of homage to martyrs and garlanding of Kalagurus image at 8 am on June 20.Rihan Daimari,Minister,PHE,Assam would inaugurate a huge cultural rally of various ethnic groups of Assam at 11 am.
To be followed by the open session at 1 pm.

Rangbong Teran,president Asom Xahita Xabha would attend the open session as the chief guest of the day,while noted actor Nipon Goaswami, writer Dr.Rita Choudhuri, Suniti Sonowal, president of Asom Lekhika Xamaroh, and Dr.Parama Rajbangshi,secretary , Asom Xahita Xabha would attend the ceremony as the guest of honor.A grand cultural night will also be held in the evening to be inaugurated by D.N.Hazarika,Circle Officer,Harisinga Revenue Circle (Tangla).The president and secretary of the reception committee have appealed all,particularly the branch offices of the Xabha to offer full help and cooperation for the success of the ceremony.

A minor girl dead and dozen others fell ill after they consumed prasad served at a religious function in Udalguri district on Friday. The tragic incident took place in Kalaigaon area where a ten year old girl died early in the morning. At least 71 others have complained of stomach ace and vomitting hours after they consumed prasad. The deceased was identified as Dipsikha Nath who died at the Mangaldai Civil Hospital.
