Fellowship to Jornalism Student

Paresh Baishya Foundation of Guwahati today awarded its fellowship for the study of political journalism of Assam to Shyamanta Deka, a student of Communication and Journalism department of Guwahati University in a function held at Communication and Journalism department hall. The fellowship was given by Paresh Baishya, the founder of Paresh Baishya Foundation. The function was attended by Abhijit Borah, Head of the Dept., Chandan Sharma, Lecturer, Ankuran Dutta of KKHSOU, Tarani Charan Kalita, Working President, Kamrup District Jouranlists Association, Prakash Deka, General Secretary, KDJA and many others.

Two persons including a woman were killed in a train mishap took place on Monday 6:15 pm at railway lines of Tuhura village under Kamalpur Police Station. According to the Railway Police Sources, One Abdul Hannan Dewan tried to cross the railway line by one white Maruti van but it was suddenly hit by Up North Express. A bomb was recovered at Rangia market in the early hours today during a joint operation launched by Rangia Police and Red Horns Division Engineers Regiment. Acting on specific information security personnel recovered the bomb kept inside a hume pipe inside the market. The bomb is Improvised Explosive Device ane weight is approximately 8 kgs. No person has been arrested till now though the investigation is on. Senior police and civil administration officials have visited the spot.
Kamalpur: Two persons were killed in an accident took place at dawn today at National Highway 31 at Madanpur under Kamalpur polic station in Kamrup district. A motorcycle bearing No.AS-01AH-2167 coming from Guwahati towards Rangia collided with truck No. AS-18 A-1469 at Madanpur. Both the riders namely Swarup Dutta (31) and Ashok kr. Biswas (27) were killed on the spot. Swarup was a resident of Dhirenpara (Guwahat) and Ashok was a resident of Rangia.
