NEFL: Assam and Manipur settle with a draw and Mizo Falcons won their matches 5-0

Guwahati: Northeast Futsal League (NEFL) is being played in NC Bordoloi Indoor , Sarusajai Guwahati, Assam. It is India’s first-ever mixed-gender futsal league, which will feature six teams in total, will be played over a period of seven days (25th-31th August, 2019).

In the third match of the ongoing North East Futsal league presently going on in Guwahati, Apurba Manipur drew with Assam Titans in a 2-2 draw. While the Scorers for Manipur were Md Shah Jahan and Md Yasir, Atlanta Basumatary and Arman Singha netted the ball for Assam.

In the other match between Mizo falcons vs Meghalaya Thunders, Mizoram won by a handsome margin of five goals. All the matches will be streamed online on official YouTube channel.

Meghalaya Vs Assam ( 4 to 5)
Nagaland Vs Manipur (5 to 6 )

Hours after the string of blas that rattled the north eastern city of Guwahati, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi spoke to External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee seeking India's diplomatic pressure on Bangladesh so that North Eastern insurgent groups do not find shelter in that country.

Union home minister P Chidambaram who was in the city hold a close door meeting with Gogoi where the Chief Minister admitted to lapses in security forces that could have prevented the blasts. Chidambaram told Gogoi that he would take up the matter with Sheikh Hasina who is expected to take over as Bangladesh Prime Minister soon.

Transit remand for Burling Bhutur

The Assam Police on Saturday got Burling Bhutur on transit remand a day after the dreaded NDFB-S rebel was arrested in Bangalore.

The wanted rebel is allegedly involved in the killing of six Adivasi people at Lungsung on December 23 apart from killing of 6 Hindi-speaking people in Sarfang guri on January 16.

A team of police from Guwahati is on the way back from Bangaluru on Saturday along with the NDFB-S leader whom police caught acting on tipoff from their Assam counterpart.

Notably, he was also wanted in the gory Serfang guri carnage where he and his group pulled down around 12 passengers from a bus and shot 6 of them dead at Athiabari.
