Lightning Kills 3

Three persons were killed and six others serious injuried due to lightning at various places in Kokrajhar district on Saturday.

Nareswar Basumatary (55) Lakhan Basumatary (35) of Takumpur, Kachugaon dies when they were struck by lightning in the early morning of Saturday. Manik Basumatary (3) of the same family received serious injury at the same incident.

In another incident,three persons including a six month old baby received serious injuries due to lightning at Kachugaon Mainaguri. A heavy rain and lightning hit Mainaguri under Kachugaon in the early this morning of Saturday. They were identified as Dhoni Brahma (Six month), Madan Narzary (32) and Bina Brahma (45). Injuries were immediately rushed to local hospital, and later referred to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital.

On Saturday afternoon, in another incident,one Manju Basumatary of Bishmuri Taigirbilw died due to lightening.

Again, two more persons from Durabili and Nabinagar in Kachugaon reached hospital due to lightning injury. They were identified as Dayabati Sabha and Balaii Brahma.

Footballer Apurna Narzary to receive Emerging Player award in Bodoland Territorial Region

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. A five-day mountaineering training program, organized by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare department of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) government, begins on Thursday at the Dangdupur Hills Site in Kokrajhar. BTR Peace Accord Day celebrated

On Friday, the government of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) observed the third BTR Peace Accord Day as "Day of Peace" on Friday.  A massive bike peace rally was held in Kokrajhar, the "City of Peace." 3 arrested under arms act

Three individuals, including former MLA and senior BPF (Bodoland People's Front) leader Hitesh Basumatary, were arrested by police in Baksa district after a search operation at Basumatary's residential complex resulted in the recovery of a large cache of illegal arms and ammunition. ISPL 2022: Bodoland lifts trophy

Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) team won the trophy defeating Lai Autonomous Council (LADC) of Mizoram 1-0 in the final match of inter sixth schedule premier league -2022 being held at SAI SAG center,Kathalguri Titaguri in Kokrajhar district.
