TURA: For GNLA the immediate concern is the struggle to survive. The Garo rebels would be able to remain firm on the separate Garoland only if they survives as an outfit.
The premier north eastern rebel outfit is no longer force to be reckoned with since the Garo rebel outfit is manned by as many as 11 people even after a dreaded ULFA leader has come to hold the charge.

He along with a few others including ULFA deputy commander in chief Drishti Rajkhowa were with Sohan and the moment the commandos killed the GNLA chief, they managed to escape and kept hearing the sounds of gunfiring at Dobru in Sadagre area.
Sangma confessed to have helped Shira only by cooking food and washing clothes who surrendered before the Meghalaya on Wednesday.
Shira, the head of the outfit was killed at an encounter on Saturday last at an operation a week after he and his associates exploded a powerful grenade at the convoy of Jonathone N Sangma as the NCP candidate was on his way back to home in William Nagar after holding an election rally.
