He further said," Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is taking major steps to upgrade the sports activities in Assam, We have taken major steps where if a player from Assam wins at any International game, he will be awarded with one Crore rupees plus an government Job."
Shiladitya Dev, Hojai MLA said," Hojai is newly formed district and we are Very delighted to host this mega event here, today their may be shortage of some amenities, but one day in Hojai will host national games continuously."

In the beginning of the opening ceremony flag' s of Hockey India,Assam Hockey Association and Hojai District Sport's Assocition were hoisted and altogether 21state's teams Marched the ground.
