Nagaland chief minister TR Zeliang hoped that the Centre would do the needful to solve the decade old Naga problem before the upcoming assembly polls.
Zeliang said it to Ram Madhab when the BJP National Secretary and North East in-charge visited him at his official residence in Kohima on Wednesday.
The chief minister welcomed the BJP leader with a Naga shawl and a memento in presence of MP Neiphiu Rio, Home Minister Y. Patton and Parliamentary Secretary Pohwang Konyak and others.
The people in the restive north eastern state want the political issue to be solved before the assembly polls due early next year.
