Doordarshan Kendra, Guwahati will telecast a live Phone - in - Programme about present agricultural practices in context with recent flood affected fields in Assamese, on 2nd August , 2017 from 5.30pm to 6.00pm in the 'Krishi Darshan' Programme . Dr.Kishore Kr. Sharma, Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, Assam Agricultural University and Mowsam Hazarika Assistant Director of Agriculture, Directorate of Agriculture, Assam will take part in the discussion and interact with the farmers.

The agriculture department steps up measures to firmly deal with the army worms which wreak huge havocs in many parts of the state. In a letter to District Agricultural Officers and other officials, the department said that army worms or swarming caterpillars have manifested in different areas of the State. Steps like deployment of spraying squads in affected areas have been directed. Bee keeping is going to be s household practice in Assam to tap the potential available in the state.
