Manipur CM warns corrupts
Manipur Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh today warned of stern action against those involved in corrupt practices and fake encounter cases.
The Chief Minsiter also sought optimal public support in inititaing action against such individuals while appealing to the people of the state to help run the administration without influence.
He was participating as the chief guest at a One-day Awareness Programme on Various Workers’ Welfare Schemes Cum Labour Cards Distribution at his residence, Luwangshangbam in Imphal.
CM Biren reiterated that uplifting the needy and women are priorities of the state and said the state has to ensure equal development.
The Chief Minister further stated that the state Government is planning to introduce a special scheme for the widows from the current financial year.
Sharing his views on the main causes of natural calamities and flash floods recently witnessed in the state, the Chief Minister opined that human development should not disturb the natural systems of the Mother Nature.
He assured the masses that the government would translate all its commitments into action one after another.
Later, the Chief Minister distributed labour cards to selected beneficiaries at the function. Labour and Employment Minister, Th Radheshyam, Kontha Khabam Zilla Parishad Member, P Bimola, Deputy Labour Commissioner, E Tomba, Manipur Building Constructions Welfare Board (MBCWB) Chairperson, S Preshyojit, Vice-Chairman of Manipur Infrastructure Development Agency (MIDA), M Asnikumar and President of BJP Heingang Mandal, Kh Jilla were among those present on the occasion.
