An Assam police team from Dibrugarh grilled Gautom Roy on Monday for a couple of hours in connection with the APSC scam where jobs were sold for money.
Led by SS Panesar, the police team in the Kahiliprar based SB office premises was believed to have extracted statement from the former minister on his alleged involvement in striking secret deal with a section of candidates because of his close association with chairman Rakesh Paul, who is yet to come out of the jail.
Roy allegedly brokered the deal with a number of senior Congress leaders to ensured jobs for their candidates for lakhs of rupees. The senior political leader from Barak valley helped Paul get the top chair in the state public service commission.
Sources told Assam Times the probe into the APSC scam is likely to end very soon and the police team is preparing an additional chargesheet to be submitted before the court.
Roy was grilled by the vigilance team last month for his alleged involvement in the multi crore scam in the social welfare department.
