ABSU felicitates former leaders

 The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) felicitates former leaders of the students union on the third day of the golden jubilee celebration of the students union being held at Jangkritai Pwthar in Kokrajhar on Tuesday.

 The golden jubilee celebration of the ABSU enters third day on Tuesday which was started from February 12 with four day long programme scheduled in Kokrajhar district. Over 5000 delegate and 5000 observers participated in the celebration from different district unit, university units of the country, which included Delhi unit, Chandigarh unit, Shillong unit, Guwahati University, Bodoland University.

 A national seminars on 18 several topics was organized on the day where resource persons from different universities and neighboring country, included Nagaland, Bhutan, Nepal participated and presented papers .

 The ABSU honoured and felicitates former students union leaders. Among leaders, who were given warm honoured and felicitated on the golden jubilee celebration, included Parmeswar Brahma, Ranjit Kumar Borgoyary,Deepak Kumar Basumatary, Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary, Santola Basumatary, Rajen Kaklary, Pradip Komar Daimary, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Daorao Dekhreb Narzary, Nathuram Boro, Bibekananda Narzary. Promod Boro, president of ABSU said that the students union felicitated former leaders who were involved social uplift of Bodo community.

'We honoured former leaders on the occasion of golden jubilee celebration',he said.

 Subash Basumatary, founder vice president of  ABSU expresses his happiness over grand celebration of the students union. He said that the students has been working for the uplift of education and social since it's inception in the state, he said. Ranjit Kumar Borgoyary, founder assistant secretary of ABSU said that today is the day of joy and happiness because ABSU has stepped into glorious 50 years in it's organizational sustained. The students union was founded to work for bringing uplift education and social integration for Bodos, Borgoyary said.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar. Three individuals, including former MLA and senior BPF (Bodoland People's Front) leader Hitesh Basumatary, were arrested by police in Baksa district after a search operation at Basumatary's residential complex resulted in the recovery of a large cache of illegal arms and ammunition.
