City Police, Guwahati beat Coochbehar Municipality Recreation Club, West Bengal 2-0 in the Daoharu Mungkhlong Football trophy being played at Dotma HS school ground in Kokrajhar district on Sunday. Anildom Das netted his first goal in 11 minutes against Coochbehar for City Police and led the 1-0 in first half. Again, Amujao Singh scored another goal in 92 minutes in second half against Coochbehar which led the team to win 2-0 in the match. Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar.
