Top rebel held in Karbi Anglong

Security forces claimed to have captured a dreaded Adivasi rebel in Karbi Anglong district on Thursday.

Identified as Binod Gowla, the self-styled deputy C-in-C was caught along with one of his assistant from Hatkota in the hills district.

According to information, acting on a tip-off, army’s Red Horn Division joined by police carried out a operation in Hatkota where the top rebel was held.

A 7.65-mm pistol, a grenade and ammunition were recovered from their possession.
