Talking to Assam Times in Guwahati on Thursday, AJYCP president Biraj Kumar Talukdar said that they would fund the Kaziranga authority to feed the calf a week after its mother was washed away from the flood waters that swept the famed national park.
“We want to do something exemplary. We will help the rhino calf survive. We would provide financial assistance of Rs 2,000 daily to feed the calf. We hope it would encourage others to follow the path,” said Talukdar.
Notably, dozens of rhino calves have been rescued by the authorities in Kaziranga who are being kept at the wildlife rehabilitation camp.
