The Opposition launched scathing attack on the BJP-led government in Assam on Monday alleging the brimful misery of the flood-hit people.

Congress and AUIDF members alleged on the floor that many flood hot people have yet to receive any flood materials.

“In many places the materials are sub standard,” said a Congress MLA who demanded a thorough probe into the allegations.

The Opposition members further alleged Centre’s indifference. “Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi is least bothered. He has not come. He has not released anything. Is not it a huge problem in Assam?,” said the Congress legislators.

Three people lost their lives and over 6 lakh people have been affected by the current flood waves in 15 districts.
