Thrilling games going on at SSG
In the ongoing East Zone Inter Sainik Schools Games & Sports Championships which commenced on 12 Jul 16 at Sainik School Goalpara ( SSG) , Assam, Sainik School Purulia ( SSP) and SSG have secured first position in English Debate and Hindi Debate respectively. In English Debate, the participants debated on “Adhar Bill is an Infringement into the Privacy of Citizens”. Cadet Pragyan Paul of SSP was adjudged the best debater and Cadet Himshikhar Kashyap of the host school secured the second position.
In Hindi Debate, the participants debated on “GST will pave way for GDP Growth” Cadet Abhijit Kumar and Cadet Manoj Kumar, both from the SSG secured first and second positions. In Quiz, the SSG team comprising Cadet Rohit Kumar and Cadet Prem Kumar exhibited proficiency on Current Affairs, Science & Technology, Sports, Audio-Visual, History & Geography and Rapid Fire rounds and won the competition.
In sports, SSP is leading in Basketball and Volleyball, Sainik School Imphal in Football and SSG in Hockey. The participants will prove their mettle in Cultural competitions on 15 Jul. Medals and trophies for the winners would be distributed during the Closing Ceremony scheduled on 16 Jul 16.

The Closing Ceremony of the Annual Athletics Meet of Sainik School Goalpara ( SSG) for the session 2016-17 was held on 23 Dec 16 at the school athletics ground. The event commenced with the finals of 800m, 100m, 400m, 4x100m relay and 4x 400 m relay. In addition to the delighted cadets who were fighting for their House positions, a large number of parents cheered the athletes and their children who were striving for medals.
