The overall flood scene in Assam refuses to improve on Tuesday with incessant rains that lashed the state for the last couple of days. Part of the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Morigaon has come under the surging waters forcing many birds and animals to shift their places. More than 1.5 lakh people have been reeling under the current flood wave in Morigaon, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts where relief and rescue operations are in progress. The situation threatens to take more grim turn if the rains refuse to relent.
