International Yoga Day to be celebrated
A hectic preparation has got underway to celebrate second International Yoga Day on June 21 in Kokrajhar along with rest of the international. The BANDHU, a social development society in Kokrajhar has been celebrating the day with long programme scheduled at Rashmela ground in Kokrajhar. BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary will grace as chief guest on the day.
Rabiram Narzary, MLA Kokrajhar west, Doneswar Goyary, BTC executive member, Rajib Brahma, BTC executive member, Madhav Prasad Sarma, DC, Shyamal Prasad Saikia, SP, Kokrajhar will attend as guests. Sanjay, renowned Yoga Guru will present Yoga demonstration where huge participant and yoga followers are participating on the day.
The celebration will start from 5am in the morning and will continue till 8.30am.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar.
