Anti drugs rally at Bijni
The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) organized an anti drugs rally at Bijni town where over thousand student, common public participated with banner, placards demanding stern action against use of drugs and illegal gambling in the region on Monday in Chirang district.
The rally was orgsnised by
Bijni anchalik committee ABSU in association with Chirang district ABSU in protest
against abuse
drugs.
Promod Boro, president of the students union, BTC MCLA Guneswar Goyary participated the rally, which was started from
Bijni Bandhav HS school ground and concluded at Lakhi Mandir ground.
Boro demanded government
as well district administrations in the region should take stern steps
against illegally use of
drugs and running of illegally gambling in the
state. The running of illegally gambling and uses
drugs have been affecting social integration among society, that is why all kinds
drugs related uses should be stopped and held healthy situation in the region, he said.

The 7th edition of the northeast Butterfly meet was concluded at Raimona National Park in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday. Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Executive Member for Forest & Environment Ranjit Basumatary inaugurated the event at Kachugaon.

Professor Indira Boro, head of the department of Bodo for Bodoland University, has been named for an award from the Sahitya Akademy for translation in Bodo language.
Dr. Boro has been named for the translation of her book Hirimba (originally written in Assamese by Jayanti Gogoi)
