Legal awareness campaign

An awareness campaign against ‘witch-hunting’ was organised by Kokrajhar District Legal Services Authority at Bashbari High School involving social citizen and school students on Wednesday in Kokrajhar district.

R Bhattacharjee, AJS Kokrajhar and Secretary Kokrajhar District Legal Services Authority, Ratan Jhangkar Borgoyary,advocate Kokrajhar Court graced the programme as resource person and discussed about various issues relating to the witch-hunting,social crime,rape and murder cases that have been happening among society.

Borgoyary said that the authority was working to the legal aids for the victim family in the district and providing compensation as per law through the proper procedures whatever happen.

Senior citizens from the area,who attended the programme expressed their gratitude said that this kind of awareness campaign will create awareness towards social integration and social consciousness among society.

Footballer Apurna Narzary to receive Emerging Player award in Bodoland Territorial Region

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar. Mountaineering Training Kicks Off in Kokrajhar

A five-day mountaineering training program, organized by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare department of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) government, begins on Thursday at the Dangdupur Hills Site in Kokrajhar. BTR Peace Accord Day celebrated

On Friday, the government of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) observed the third BTR Peace Accord Day as "Day of Peace" on Friday.  A massive bike peace rally was held in Kokrajhar, the "City of Peace." Three individuals, including former MLA and senior BPF (Bodoland People's Front) leader Hitesh Basumatary, were arrested by police in Baksa district after a search operation at Basumatary's residential complex resulted in the recovery of a large cache of illegal arms and ammunition. ISPL 2022: Bodoland lifts trophy

Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) team won the trophy defeating Lai Autonomous Council (LADC) of Mizoram 1-0 in the final match of inter sixth schedule premier league -2022 being held at SAI SAG center,Kathalguri Titaguri in Kokrajhar district. Sonam Basumatary of Bodoland Territorial Region scored the lone goal against Lai Autonomous in 51 minutes of the second half. This led his team to win the tournament 1-0.
