KRUF warns to boycott BJP, Congress
The Koch Rajbongsi United Forum (KRUF), an umbrella organisation of Koch Rajbongsi community has warned to boycott both BJP, Congress if their demands of granting ST status, creation of separate Kamatapur state are not meet ahead the assembly election or within this December.
Mukul Baruah,General Secretary of KRUF while talking exclusively to Assam Times on Monday in Kokrajhar said that both BJP and Congress parties had failed to implement their promises during their election manifesto enlisted. He has slammed both parties saying that political parties had kept only promises,but not initiated to solve the issues and demands of the Koch Rajbongsi community. He has demanded early granting of Scheduled Tribes (ST) status, creation of separate Kamatapur state within Indian constitution to the community.
He has warned the to go against both BJP and Congress if their demands are not ahead Assembly election scheduled by early next year.

Noted academician and critic Dr Hiren Gohain said ULFA C-in-C Paresh Barua can't alone oppose talk with Government. Talking to reporters in Delhi on Monday Dr Gohain said Barua has no right to impose a decision on talk and that it for central body to take the final decision where he is a member.

Under the aegis of 16 Dogra Regiment as a part of Operation Sadbhavana of Indian Army a 15 days tour has been organized and Haflong Brigade of the Red Shield Division flagged off the tour today(Thursday) from Haflong.
The tour group comprises of 20 youths from different communities including school teachers and students. The tour group will visit places of historical importance in Delhi and Dehradun apart from premier military establishment.
The tour was flagged off by Brigadier, Ashim Kohli, Commander of Haflong Brigade, who in his speech highlighted the strong bond between the Army and people of Dima Hasao as also impressed upon the participants of the tour about great educational and learning value that they will experience during the tour. The Deputy Commissioner, Dioma Hasao, Sri Dilip Borthahur was also present in flagging off ceremony.

The Centre on Wednesday smartly passed the buck on to the state government after the SJA delegation camping in Delhi met P Chidambaram in the evening. The Union home minister said the state government can only release the jailed ULFA leaders to help them take a formal decision. Led by renowned critic Dr Hiren Gohain, the SJA team called on Chidambaram at 4.30 in the afternoon. Significantly, chief minister Tarun Gogoi has been harping on Centre's intervention for release of Ulfa leaders on parole.
