OIL officer dead in accident

A senior OIL officer died at a road mishap Duliajan leaving a pall of gloom in the entire area on Sunday. The accident took place at Barpathar in Bhadoi area where chief residential officer of the oil giant Rochona Luchan Das died on the spot. Local residents told Assam Times that Das who herself was driving the car on the way to Digboi lost her control over the vehicle before it slipped into a deep gorge.

She was rushed to the hospital. But Das succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital. Das is survived by her two sons. Notably, her husband who was also an OIL officer died at a road mishap two years back.

Three prominent lawyers died at a tragic road mishap in Tinsukia district on Sunday. The accident took place at Maithang Gaon in the wee hours when the vehicle carrying the lawyers hit a tree and overturned on the way from Arunachal Pradesh. Another sustained serious injury who is battling for life at the Assam Medical College Hospital in Dibrugarh.
