The two weeks long consumer awareness training concluded in Pasighat drawing good response on Monday.Assistant controller of legal metrology KP Tago and inspector Lupha Sikhet imparted the consumer awareness training to eight batches in the first phase through practical demonstration in the office complex.

Tago dismayed that despite extensive publicity and awareness campaign for the last two years, no significant changes has been found in consumer’s behaviour.He further informed that basically, the training programme is designed to educate common consumers through practical demonstration with reference to safety, quality and efficacy of day to day used products to so as to make participants a wise-buyer.

Deputy Commissioner Isha Khosla appreciated the department for conduct the training successfully. The training was necessary because it has been observed very often that a consumers do not get right goods and services.

Interrupted power supply

Trees getting uprooted and falling on electrical lines, resulting in hours of power outage is a common phenomenon during monsoon. Normal power supply remains heavily interrupted on the Pasighat-Pangin power line after a huge tree fell on a powerful a electric wire on Monday. Engineers along with departmental staffs have already been pressed into restoration process. It would take two days or more to reconnect the network.  

Incessant rain paralyzed life in Pasighat

Incessant rain for the last couple of days has paralyzed life in Pasighat and adjoining areas. Hilly rivers and streams are seen overflowing and posing a threat to road communication, paddy fields, horticulture gardens, fishponds, irrigation channels and human habitations.
