Hope for poll bound BPF

More than 250 people have joined BPF in Kokrajhar on Saturday six months ahead of the assembly polls. These people, mostly, supporters of PCDR and BJP joined the party before the BTC executive member Rajib Brahma at a function organized at Ghoskata ground in Kokrajhar.

Ratna Kanta Brahma, the BJP leader from Banargaon constituency joined the party with more than 100 people from Karida Majati, South Ghoskata, North Ghoskata, Kamarpara villagers.

Led by PCDR Rajib Mushahary, another huge group of people joined BPF at the same function. The people, mostly, are local resident of Bongshidharma, Bheltari Roybasti, Bheltari Borobasti, Banargaon. Brahma thanked them with traditional Aronai and hoped that the party would get a fresh strength with their support.

Talking to Assam Times, Ratna Kanta Brahma said he has joined in ruling party to facilitate peoples welfare and social uplift as BPF party was working for the peoples of the region.

The United People’s Party(UPP) candidate  for Kokrajhar east Pratibha Brahma filed nomination papers to the Returing Officer at DC office in Kokrajhar on Monday. With extending support to the United People's Party ahead scheduled Assam assembly election on April 11 next, Rafikul Sheik, vice president of Kokrajhar district committee of AIUDF joined in UPP at a party meeting at Fakiragram under Kokrajhar west LAC in Kokrajhar district on Sunday.  Sheik along with his party supporters joined the party in the presence of huge party supporters and extended supports to the party.  'His joined the UPP party will blow a setback to the AIUDF party', said a political analyst.   

NDFB-S ultra held

Security forces apprehend a NDFB(S) cadre from Basabil area under Gossaigaon PS on Sunday in Kokrajhar district. Based on information about the presence of the militant outfit cadres in the area, a joint team of police and army launched an operation where a listed cadre of Gossaigaon platoon of the NDFB(S) was arrested along with arms. He was identified as Sanjay Narzary of Borsabil village. A pistol, two round ammunition was recovered from him.

BPF leaves three more seats to BJP

The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has left three constituencies- Sorbhog, Rangia and Bhawanipur to the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP), its ally party.
