Four BJP MLAs walked out of the Assembly on Thursday after the House refused to discuss the Morigaon issue where a group of local powerful Congress leaders attacked a police party for trying to arrest a family of Bangladeshi immigrants.
Dibrugarh MLA Prashanta Phukan raised the issue as demanding a statement from the government to be opposed by the ruling Congress members. Amid a noisy scene,
Speaker Pranab Kumar Gogoi rejected the demand. Then the four Oppostion MLAs staged walk out alleging that the denial is undemocratic.
