Gunfight in Sivasagar forest

Amid a joint combing operation against ULFA, a heavy exchange of firing between police and militants is going on in Sivasagar district.

According to information, the encounter is taking place on in Delli reserve forest area bordering Nagaland. Acting on a tip off that a group of five ULFA and NSCN-K militants are hiding in the dense jungle police and para military forces launched a raid in the wee hours where the gun fight took place which is continuing.
