At least 2 persons died and 14 others includibg five women received serious injured following thunderstorm in various places of Kokrajhar and Chirang district late last evening in Assam.
While, Doctors in the Kokrajhar Rup Nath Brahma civil hospital said that injured are out of critical and sufficient treatments are being given.
According to eye witnesses the thunderstorms struck peoples at Simbargaon, Jharbari, Karigaon of Kokrajhar district where two persons (one man and woman) died and 12 others sustained injured at around 5 . 30 pm. In another incident at Oxiguri village of Chirang district, two women seriously injured in the strong thunderstorm.
The deceased were identified as Tile Boro, 40 years old of Simbargaon and Narkw Basumatary,45 year old of Karigaon.
The injured were immediately rushed to Kokrajhar Rup Brahma civil hospital. They have been identified as Somaina Mushahary, Anji Brahma, Bihula Basumatary, Sanjita Basumatary, Swatika Mushahary, Kerbao Basumatary, Paresh Boro, Malo Basumatary, Leda Basumatary, Raghunath Narzary, Danswrang Mushahary, Sandha Basumatary, Bistiram Basumatary and Pradip Basumatary.
Dr A Das, superintendent of the hospital said that the thunderstorm affected patients were admitted to hospital last night and treatments are being giving them. Two were found brought dead and remaining 14 have been admitted and giving treatment.
