Students left for educational excursion

A total of 10 students (both boy and girls) from remote border areas from Kokrajhar and Chirang district left for New Delhi by down Brahmaputra mail train today for educational excursion under the sponsorship of  16th Battalion(Bn) of SSB based at Ranighuli in Kokrajhar district.

The students comprising of five boys and five firls from different communities and guides from SSB from remote border areas from two district are visiting the historical sites like Lotus temple,Qutub Minar,Jantar Mantar,Lalquila,Parliament House,India gate in New Delhi and Tajmahal in Agra during their week long tour.

 Rabisangkhar Borgoyary,BTC education director flag off the tour in presence of  SSB official and publics at Ranighuli.Borgoyary wished happy and safe tour of the students,expected that tour will encourage students while taking educational knowledge.

Earlier a meeting was organised by SSB officials in connection with excursion tour and shared objective and aims of the excursion organised by SSB to bring awareness about building educational knowledge and integrated feeling among student as well society.

AKC Singh,Commanding Officer(CO) of 16th Bn SSB told that the SSB battalion has been organising the educational excursion for remote border area students to bring educational atmosphere in the society.He said that they will visit the historical sites and educational institution during their week long tour in the national capital New Delhi and Agra.He also said that the students will be benefited for acquiring of knowledge in their life about building higher studies.

Security forces have intensified their combing operation against militant outfits in the region.  Three link men/over ground worker of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit faction were apprehended by security forces in a joint operation at Ripu Reserve Forest on Sunday morning in Kokrajhar district. A businessman was hospitalized after attacked with sharp weapon by miscreants at Champa bazaar area on Friday evening in Kokrajhar district. In a joint operation launched by the security forces from Assam Police and Army apprehended a cadre of Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) at Salakati village under Kokrajhar PS on Friday.  He was identified as Sonaram Roy of Balagaon area of Kokrajhar district. An emergency response mock drill was conducted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Habrubari in Kokrajhar district on Friday,which was a part of offsite emergency mock on the IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri underground pipeline to test the preparedness of its emergency personnel. A live fire fighting exercise was carried out alongside the drill by Fire and Rescue Services personnel.
