Former Jharkhand chief minister Babulal Marandi blamed it all on the Assam government for the recent carnage of the Adivasi people in Kokrajhar, Chirang and Sonitpur districts.
Talking to reporters after visit the relief camps in both the affected areas on Sunday, he said that the massacre could have been averted saying that Dispur is least sensitive to violence against the tribal settlers.
Marandi said, “So many innocent lives would not have been saved has had the government taken prompt and adequate action.”
During his visit, he met chief secretary JS Khosla, DGP Khagen Sarma along with senior officials. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha also expressed concern over violence against tribal settlers in Assam. The party has decided that all the 19 elected legislators would donate their one month's salary to the victim families in Assam
