A massive protest awaits BTAD areas again if the two NGO workers are not free at an earlier date. Various political parties, organizations and individuals have urged the kidnappers to release the duo on humanitarian ground. The Lower Assam NGO Forum took out a huge protest rally in Kokrajhar on Sunday demanding immediate release of the duo belonging to Lutheran World Service India Trust. Suspected NDFB-S militants kidnapped them at gunpoint from Patgaon Kausi Bazar on October 25 demanding unconditional safe release of the two volunteers. Hundreds of people from various NGOs, Civil society and locals participated in the rally carrying banners, placards etc, which started from Raasmela field through Kokrajhar town. Sources here say the outfit has demanded huge ransom for the release. Sources said the kidnappers had called up the family member of Khan and demanded Rs 12 lakhs for his release. The Bodoland Students Union (BSU) expressed serious over kidnappings including a student and extortion demands from common peoples in BTAD region. The union appealed to the entire concern organization responsible for the kidnapped of innocent student and volunteers to release them unconditionally on humanitarian ground to maintain peace and unity in the region.
