Sensation prevails in Tezpur after a police officer allegedly committed suicide on Friday. The incident was believed to have taken place in the wee hours where senior police officer Naren Talukdar shot himself dead at his room. He shot himself to death within own service pistol and is body was found inside his room at the police station complex in the morning. Post mortem report is expected to come out on Friday evening. Investigation is on to ascertain the reason for the policeman taking the extreme step.
The Centre’s Rs 1000 crore pre poll announcement for BTAD is bound embitter relationship between BJP and BPF.
Talking to reporters on Saturday BTAD chiefHagrama Mohilary said that he has not received anything from the Centre out of the Rs 1,000 crore promised in the pre poll scene. “I have not received anything. No, we are not ready to accept Rs 250 cr, Rs 350 cr in lieu of the promised amount. It will damage our image,” said Mohilary when the reporter asked whether he was ready in accept anything.
Notably, BPF agreed to strike poll deal with BPF only after the ruling party at the Centre assured BTAD of Rs 1,000 crore package. Narendra Modi in his poll rally did not announce the package even after BJP president assured BPF of the package.
Guwahati: AGP General House Meeting today has taken some concrete decisions. The General House Meeting has decided to hold the AGP Executive Committee Meeting on 30th and 31st August. It has decided to hold all District Conferences within 25th August and the Anchalik Conferences before 20th August.
The General House Meeting has also decided that it would be in the interests of the Orgainsation to unite all founder leaders under the banner of AGP and reunite the party.
Brindavan Goswami's leadership is also under question and he has indicated that he may resign from his position before the coming assembly elections.
