In a bizarre incident that touches off seismic waves of shock and anger, two minor girls were believed to have been killed after being raped in Karimganj district bordering Bangladesh. The incident took place on Wednesday. But the real picture came to light on Thursday after the bodies were found hanging in the two ends of the same rope on a tree. The family members desperately looked for the girls on Wednesday. But of no avail. On Thursday only, the lifeless girls were found inside a dense jungle along the Indo-Bangladesh border. The bodies were sent for the post mortem. Police officials told Assam Times that they are waiting for the post mortem report. The entire incident assumes significance two months after the shocking Badaun case where two minor girls were gangraped, killed to be hanged on a tree.
