GS Road leads to Golaghat!

Yet another GS Road episode hangs the state’s head in shame. A group of youths outraged the modesty of a girl in full view of the people in Golaghat town which touches off a seismic wave of reaction across the state on Wednesday.

The shocking and shameful incident took place in the evening when a group of youths openly dragged a 23 year old girl after they found her in an inebriated condition.

“She wanted to talk to the on lookers. But her physical condition did not allow her to speak what went wrong with her,” local resident Priya Bora told Assam Times when he came out to get a glimpse of the incident.

The onlookers in the street remained a mute spectator when over 60 youths dragged her to different directions touching her semi naked body.

Policemen came at last. But it took nearly one hour for them to rescue the girl from the crowd. She was rushed to the hospital.

Instead of facilitating her medical treatment she was brought to the police station to be inflicted torture on her.
